Sunpartner wins IDTechEx Awards for the “Best Technical Development within Energy Harvesting and Storage”
On April 28th, 2015, Sunpartner Technologies, inventor of the invisible Wysips® photovoltaic film and specialist in solar NETs (New Energy Technologies) received the “Best Technical Development within Energy Harvesting and Storage” award at the IDTechEX Tradeshow in Berlin (Germany).
A must-attend meeting for industry professionals, every year, the IDTechEx tradeshow brings together several hundred firms for two days of conferences exploring emerging technologies such as portable technologies, energy recovery, connected devices, printed electronics, and 3D printing.
This honor was awarded to the Wysips® solar recharging technologies and solutions making any surface a source of electricity using natural or artificial light without impacting their aesthetics.
Gregory Winter, Director, Sales and Business Development Europe at Sunpartner Technologies said: “We are happy and proud of this new recognition bolstering our innovation and growth strategy in France and abroad,” before adding: “The explosion in new uses with connected devices and on-board applications raises new challenges, the first of which is: energy reliability for devices and producing clean and sustainable energy. Wysips® technologies provide a response to these new challenges by powering devices and connected sensors using light.”
Indeed, Wysips® technologies provide for significantly reducing, or even eliminating, using electricity from the traditional network and/or produced from fossil fuels in numerous domains and on numerous markets: Wysips® Crystal for screens, connected devices, and displays; Wysips® Glass for glazing (buildings and transportation); Wysips® Cameleon for opaque surfaces (displays, buildings, and transportation); Wysips® Connect (LiFi) and soon SOL-TEX, aimed at creating a photovoltaic thread and textile by 2019.
This summer, névo, the connected devices creator, will introduced on the market the world’s first solar powered analog smartwatch. The new watch, named névo solar, will use the energy production of the photovoltaic Wysips® component to offer nearly unlimited battery life without impacting the watch’s aesthetics, even with frequent use of névo’s integrated activity and health sensors.
